First Year

Welcome to the gateway of Scouting adventure at the Stiverson Shelter, strategically positioned in the heart of camp near the Friendship Circle. This program area is dedicated to our newest members, offering a tailored experience for younger Scouts embarking on their journey through the initial ranks of Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class.

Our unique program is specifically designed to support first-year campers as they navigate the foundational aspects of Scouting. Here, in a setting that combines the tranquility of nature with the spirit of learning, Scouts have the flexibility to work on rank requirements at their own pace. This approach ensures a personalized experience, catering to the individual needs and progress of each camper.

Under the guidance of our specialized counselors, first-year Scouts engage in a variety of basic outdoor skills. These sessions are more than just instructional; they are interactive and engaging, providing hands-on opportunities to practice and master essential Scouting skills. From knot tying and navigation to first aid and nature study, our program covers all the necessary components to build a strong foundation in Scouting.

The Stiverson Shelter is not just a location; it's a starting point for a lifelong journey in Scouting. It's a place where young Scouts are nurtured, skills are honed, and the path to future ranks begins. Join us in this vibrant and supportive environment, where learning is an adventure, and every Scout is on the path to discovery and growth.
