Remember that the ONLY acceptable form for attending Camp Drake is the current form from national. All persons attending camp, regardless of duration, must have parts A, B, and C on file with the camp, and the physical must be valid for the entire stay at camp. Persons that do not use the proper form may not be admitted to camp, and this pre-screening is aimed at reducing any potential problems by having the forms checked in advance.
Please don't submit forms to the council office within two weeks of your unit's arrival date at camp, and remember to only submit a COPY of the form. Also remember that any and all medications must be in their original containers with legible labels.
New this year will be an expanded option to store medications in your troop trailer in the campsite. The medications must be in a locked, weather tight container, and the leader will attend a brief orientation to the process during the first night at camp. While the Camp Drake Health and Safety Officer can administer medications for your youth, we're offering the option to allow units to manage this responsibility individually. Remember that according to the Guide to Safe Scouting the responsibility for a Scout to take their medication rests with the Scout and his parents.
Also remember to let us know about any special dietary needs for your Scouts and leaders. We're working to improve the non-standard menus, and notifying us about special diets or requests will aid us in being prepared. Please send an email to the below address no later than two weeks before your unit's arrival date in camp so that we can make adjustments as we're able.
Please contact Assistant Camp Director Brian Brauer with any questions. See you at camp this summer!
