Ecology

Explore the wonders of the natural world at the Ecology program area, nestled between the serenity of the swinging bridge and the vibrant life of main camp. This is a sanctuary for Scouts passionate about understanding and preserving our planet's diverse ecosystems. From the picturesque vantage point overlooking the river, the Brian Plawer Pavilion and Ecology Campus stand as beacons of environmental education and exploration.

In this dynamic learning environment, Scouts can embark on an educational journey through a myriad of programs. Dive into studies like bird watching, environmental science, soil and water conservation, archaeology, and fish & wildlife management. Reach for the stars with our astronomy & space exploration program, or get rooted in knowledge with forestry and sustainability.

Our diverse offerings also include engaging in nature walks, experiencing hands-on learning with reptile & amphibian study, mammal study, and fishing. Plus, unique experiences like the Nature Trail hike, Salt Fork seining, and Insect Trek await those eager to delve deeper into the mysteries of the environment.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of our campus, Scouts have the opportunity to get up close and personal with various species under the guidance of our knowledgeable Ecology Staff. It's more than just a program area; it's a journey into the heart of nature, fostering a deep appreciation and understanding of the world around us.
